Kirlet picks you up in Belize City and carries you to the boat where Captain Chris and Laura greet you with smiles, frosty beers and icy cold rum punch. Welcome aboard! Once everyone is settled in we set sail for the Triangles where you can get acquainted with the warm Caribbean Sea while soaking up the last of the afternoon rays. An early evening swim is always a good way to wash away the day followed by a lovely candlelit dinner under the stars!

Rendezvous Caye is our first stop; one of Belize's most pristine gems sitting on top of the barrier reef. This deserted island offers divine diving and snorkeling on both the north and south side of its shores. Sprinkled with gently swaying palms and a lovely beach, this makes a great place for a beach BBQ lunch. In the afternoon we check out Bluefield Range. This island oasis is an excellent place to snorkel with manatees. Here we can explore a working lobster and fishing camp and if we haven't caught our own fish by then one of the fisherfolk will be happy to help us out. Guess what were having for dinner?
Today we pick up anchor and head for Tobacco Caye. Once a hideout for pirates, this sandy isle is now the home of rustic panel board guesthouses and tiny hotels with beach cabanas. It is also a preferred spot for turtles that emerge from the sea and lay their eggs in season. There is excellent snorkeling right off the beach where you can often see spotted eagle rays gracefully soaring over the turtle grass beds. In the cut you may see the many tarpon that like to hang out, displaying their gilded armor of brilliant silver scales as they watch you passing by. After dinner you may like to spend the evening chatting with the friendly locals at the beach bar ashore and maybe you can entice them to bring out their garafuna drums.

A short sail brings us to South Water Caye. This incredibly beautiful island is one of the largest inhabited sand cays in southern Belize and has many little bars and restaurants to check out. It also offers superb beaches, fantastic snorkeling and spectacular wall dives. As part of Belize's national marine park system, this gem sits right on the barrier reef and you can literally walk off the beach and swim to the barrier reef from here. Prepare to be pleasantly surprised by the amazing fish life surrounding this gorgeous jewel that makes up the precious necklace of Belizeís great barrier reef. Care to do some windsurfing?

We spend a leisurely day sailing past numerous tiny cayes where we can stop to snorkel along the way. Soon we come upon yet another Rendezvous Caye. Our anchorage for the night is this beautiful South Pacific-like isle with lovely white beaches lined by big shady coconut trees, perfect for hanging out in a hammock. You will be enchanted by spectacular water colors as you snorkel over large brain corals surrounded by a myriad of exquisite tropical fish. A coral shelf plummets to 90 feet on the south side of the island providing an interesting wall dive. Or, you might like to take the kayak over to the Funk Cayes 1/2 mile to the west and explore there.

Today we have lunch at Laughing Bird Caye National Park where we can snorkel over extensive stands of elkhorn, staghorn and brain coral or simply watch the abundance of birds that make this their home. In the afternoon we sail to Placencia perched at the end of a long narrow sandy peninsula. Once a sleepy seaside village, Placencia is now peppered with numerous small guesthouses, hotels, bars and restaurants that come alive in the evening. We will take our last dinner ashore enjoying the culinary arts of one of these fine restaurants.

We go ashore today to explore the many unique boutiques and art galleries or simply saunter along the one and only cement sidewalk that spans the length of this quaint town. Here we must sadly say goodbye. You can take one of several 40 minute flights that run regularly to Belize City or you may want to extend your stay. Placencia is an ideal base for inland attractions such as the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary, Monkey River and several Mayan ruins.
